Introductory course in Tomiki Aikido (for beginners). Warm-up, etiquette, a few basic techniques, etc. are shown.
Add. information: This video assumes no knowledge on the part of the viewer and would therefore be great for a beginner of Tomiki Aikido. It begins by introducing the dojo (practice hall) and explains dojo etiquette and it also gives a brief history of Aikido and its founder Morihei Uyeshiba (1883-1969). The video then goes through the warm-up exercises and basics like Shikko (Knee Walking), breakfalling, Unsoku (Foot Movements). Next it shows the 17 basic techniques that make up the Randori No Kata of the Tomiki system and also some counters-techniques. The Kata is not shown in enough detail to learn from without instruction, although it would be good as a supplement to your training.
