Hello; There is indeed very little information about this obscure japanese version of “Wing Chun”, actually is not related to any of the lineages but just resembles the chinese art.
What I understand is that this japapenes offshoot is or at least was very popular in japan in the 90’s specially since the burst in popularity of MMA bouts and stuff.
KAKUTOUGI TSUUSHINThis is the Japanese master of Koppoh, he has nice skill but his movements remind me of other martial artists.
He wears a very old fashioned beard style.
I’m sorry but I don’t have any other source of information.
KENKA GE KOPPOH (Fighting skills of Koppoh)The first Koppoh “festival” appears to feature six bouts.
Koppoh is arguably a variant of Japanese Jiu Jitsu and features a unique striking method.
It has a decent following and is apparently a very effective fighting method.
Highly recommended for people interested in MMA jiu jitsu aikido ki qi and Japanese martial arts and fighting sports.
Video is in japanese language only.
What is Martial arts ?
Martial arts are codified systems and traditions of combat practiced for a number of reasons such as self-defense; military and law enforcement applications; competition; physical, mental, and spiritual development; entertainment; and the preservation of a nation’s intangible cultural heritage.
Although the term martial art has become associated with the fighting arts of East Asia, it originally referred to the combat systems of Europe as early as the 1550s. The term is derived from Latin and means “arts of Mars”, the Roman god of war. Some authors have argued that fighting arts or fighting systems would be more appropriate on the basis that many martial arts were never “martial” in the sense of being used or created by professional warriors.
