The basic technique of Aikido Yoshinkan. Demonstrated by the founder of Aikido Yoshinkan Gozo Shioda and the leading masters of the school. Gozo Sensei Shioda entered the Kobukan Dojo of O-Sensei on May 24, 1932 and stayed there until 1941 as a student living at the school.
In 1952, after the MacArthur government’s martial arts ban was lifted, he began teaching Aikido.
At the first post-war demonstration of Aikido in 1954, where more than 15 thousand spectators were present, Shioda-sensei received the Grand Prix as the best participant.
In 1961, O-Sensei awarded Gozo Shioda the 9th Dan, confirming his complete mastery of Aikido, and in 1984 the International Federation of Martial Arts awarded him 10th Dan and the title Meijin or Grand Master.
Later he was recognized as a leader of all martial arts and awarded the title “Mu-Dan” (outside the Danes) and also recognized as a Cultural Property of Japan.
